Operating Interface

System Support Display Unit

The System Support Display Unit (SSDU) is the main operator interface in Level Master systems. The unit is typically mounted in the cargo control console, but can also be installed as a stand-alone unit.

The SSDU incorporates a board computer with flash memory, rather than a traditional computer and hard disk drive. One advantage of this configuration is that the flash memory is better suited to the sometimes harsh conditions onboard, holding up better against vibrations for example. The flash memory is also better at protecting data when power fails, and eliminates the requirement for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).

A second advantage is that the computer and monitor can be mounted together and take up little space in the console, while still providing simple and clear access to tank monitoring information, as well as settings for variable alarms, through the tank monitoring software.

The SSDU can be easily connected to a printer and / or ship-board network to allow access and monitoring from other areas of the ship.

System Control Unit

The System Control Unit (SCU) houses the "nerve center" of the Level Master system. There is a 10-inch touch-screen monitor, which provides access for system settings, as well as acting as a secondary tank monitor. Audio and visual alarms for the system are also located here. Depending on the specifications of the vessel, the SCU can be mounted with the safety barrier box or in a separate location.
