Tank Monitor software

Tank Monitor software

Tank Monitor is a Windows-based software for displaying cargo, ballast and other tank information.

Main Functions

  • • Tank level monitoring
  • • Tank gas pressure monitoring
  • • Tank temperature monitoring
  • • Tank capacity / volume
  • • Draft, trim and list corrections
  • • Tank level, pressure and temperature alarm indication
  • • Tank level, pressure and temperature alarm setting
  • • Documentation function

The software gathers information from Musasino’s gauges and shows it in an easy-to-understand graphical display. Through this interface, operators can easily see current conditions for all tanks, as well as get detailed information from specific tanks as needed.

A new documentation function has been added to support officers in completing documents related to cargo operations. Information from level gauges and other sensing equipment is automatically imported to the appropriate document. For example, ullage reports, pump operation data, safety checklists, etc. can be completed efficiently in the tank monitoring software and easily printed as needed.

Tank Monitor also allows the operator to set various parameters, including alarm settings.

Network Management System

Network Management System

The Network Management System (NMS) contains the software side of Musasino’s self-diagnostic system.

  • • System self-diagnostics
  • • Troubleshooting and repair guides
  • • System reports
  • • Automated data logging
  • • Tank level trend function

If for any reason a signal is dropped or a device goes off-line, the NMS immediately alerts the operator to which device has failed. There is a built-in troubleshooting guide, which will steer the operator through further analysis and possible solutions. An automated data logging and reporting function will prepare an e-mail with details of the failure to be sent to Musasino if parts, further analysis or a service visit is necessary. Using this system, downtime can be shortened and service costs can be lowered.

NMS also contains a tank level trend function. When used with Musasino’s radar tank level gauge, Level Echo Ace, the software tracks and anticipates trends in the level data. If an out-of-trend or erratic reading is received, the software will hold the indication steady while it verifies the reading. This means that sloshing or waves in the cargo tank will not cause fluctuating readings.

Cargo Operations Planning

Cargo Operations Planning

Musasino’s cargo planning software has been designed to support Chief Officers in planning cargo loading and discharging. The software uses information from two sources – user input and Musasino’s tank monitoring systems – to simulate and propose cargo operation plans. The operator inputs information regarding the cargo types and volumes to be loaded or discharged. Current tank conditions – level, pressure, temperature, volume – and trim, heel and list is gathered in from the tank monitoring systems. The software runs a simulation using all of this information, as well as pump flow rates, with step-by-step strength calculations. The end result is a detailed proposal for cargo operations presented in graphic and table forms.

Pipeline, Pump & Valve Monitoring & Control

Pipeline, Pump & Valve Monitoring & Control

To further extend the monitoring and control options available to users through the operator interface, we have designed our systems to easily integrate signals from pumps and valves. This allows the operator to view the status of valves and pumps. When desired the interface can also be used for ballast pump and valve control.

Integration of 3rd Party Monitoring Systems

The operator interface is set up to allow easy integration of other related monitoring systems as desired. Working with other providers, the operator interface can import and display information from various applications, such as for inert gas generators, fire and gas detection or GPS.
