Automatic Slop Tank Cleaning and Discharge System for the “Meiyu Maru”

The automatic slop tank cleaning and discharge system jointly developed by Meiwa Kaiun and Musasino was delivered to the “Meiyu Maru”.

For this system, Miewa Kaiun received the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism’s “Seafarers’ Safety and Working Environment Award.

The system remotely automates valve operations, slop tank cleaning, and cleaning water discharge aboard chemical tankers.

・This is the world's first introduction of such a system on a ship!
・Ensures safety and reduces the workload of seafarers (e.g., in rough weather and at night)
・Eliminates associated working and standby time
・Reduces work hours (from 36 hours per year to 1.5 hours)

Musasino is developing various systems to assist ship crews, and system digitalization, with the aim of automating cargo handling. By digitalizing tasks that now rely on individual skills, we aim to address crew shortages and reduce the risk of human errors.

Musasino’s systems assist crews by digitize inefficient analog-based operations, combining them with high-precision measurement systems and optimized software.

The goal is to create safer, more efficient cargo handling operations.
